The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) hosted a nationwide Khatam Al-Quran ceremony yesterday in conjunction with the 39th National Day celebration.
Around 1,200 individuals from youth organisations, schools and higher learning institutions participated.
In the Brunei-Muara District, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad along with Legislative Council members and senior officers attended the event at Ar-Rahman Mosque, Kampong Tanjung Bunut. Permanent Secretary (Youth) at the MCYS Haji Zakaria bin Haji Serudin was also present.
In the Tutong District, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan attended the event at Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque in Kampong Sengkarai.
In the Temburong District, Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud attended the programme at the RPN Kampong Rataie Mosque.
In Belait District, Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the MCYS Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan attended the event at Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque.
