The Kampong Kilanas Mosque Takmir committee held a closing ceremony for its 12 nights Dikir Syarafil Anam at the Kampong Kilanas Mosque recently in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul.
Some 20 groups participated in the event, which began on September 26.
The team comprised participants from the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Development (MoD), the Land Department, Pedikir Sultan Haji Hasanal Bolkiah Mosque, Pedikir ‘Usarah Al-Asward’, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Prisons Department, the Narcotics Control Bureau and Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Khalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kampong Mulaut, among others.
Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid was the guest of honour.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as well as patrons and members of the Kampong Kilanas Mosque Takmir Committee were also present.
The event also saw the guest of honour present Waqaf to the Kampong Kilanas Mosque on behalf of the MoD.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) organised a religious talk to commemorate and celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd Kadir attended the talk.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, permanent secretaries, service commanders and joint force commander, deputy permanent secretaries, officers and personnel from the MinDef and RBAF were also present.
The event commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah followed by recitation of verses from Surah Al-Azhab.
Religious Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Muhammad Nasyith bin Superi delivered a talk titled ‘Bersabar, Berikhtiar, Bertawakkal dan Berdoa Menghadapi Ujian: Meraih Syafaat Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam’.
The event concluded with mass Asar prayer and recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, Surah Al-Asr and Tasbih Kaffarah.
Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) also held a Maulidur Rasul celebration at Chancellor Hall yesterday, themed ‘Patience, Endeavour, Trust and Supplication When facing Test; Seeking Assistance from Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’.
Assistant Lecturer at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Haji Mohd Khairul Na-zif bin Haji Awang Damit delivered a religious talk entitled ‘Loving the Prophet, Extraordinary Love’. Acting Vice-Chancellor of UBD Pengiran Dr Mohammad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra attended as guest of honour.
Officers, lecturers, staff and students were also present.
The gathering was organised by the UBD Students Affairs through the Spiritual and Community Services, Religious Executive and Spiritual, Students Association.
