Private School Unit, Islamic Religious Knowledge Division
The Private School Unit of the Islamic Religious Knowledge Division (IRK), Department of Islamic Studies through the Private School Unit Leaders Committee held a ‘Mari Berselawat’ at The Walk, Beribi Central Mall, Gadong yesterday to celebrate Maulidur Rasul.
Some 135 IRK teachers from the Department of Islamic Studies assigned to private schools attended the event. The programme started with a mass Selawat led by male teachers of the Private School Unit, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Kesyukuran in conjunction with the 33rd Teacher’s Day Celebration by Haji Mohammed Shaffiee bin Haji Masri.
The event also saw a welcoming speech from Chairman of the Private School Unit Leaders Committee and chief guest Ernalisa @ Hanisah ‘Aqilah binti Haji Shaheed, who is also the Head of the Private School Unit.
The ceremony continued with a motivational lecture on ‘Rasullullah Guruku’ by a lecturer and Dean of Students, Student Affairs Division, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Haji Mohammad Shahrol Azmi bin Haji Abdul Muluk.
It was followed by a presentation on ‘Selawat Mendapat Syafaat‘. – Azlan Othman
Women’s Institute of Brunei Darussalam
The Women’s Institute of Brunei Darussalam (WI) held a Maulidur Rasul at its headquarters in Bukit Bendera, Tutong District on Friday.
WI advisor Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Ali was the guest of honour. The ceremony featured a lecture on ‘Manifesasi Cinta Kepada Rasulullah’ by Assistant Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre Hajah Zunainah binti Haji Gunong, followed with Dikir Asyrakal by WI members. – Rokiah Mahmud
