Five mosques are set to recite Selawat Tafrijiyyah simultaneously, with Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital as the focal point, as part of a nationwide event tomorrow to mark the National Level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration for 1443 Hijrah.
This was said by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned during a special talk on Radio Television Brunei (RTB) yesterday. “We are targetting the recitation of 4,444 Selawat, the number that has been proven to be efficacious by the people of the past,” he said, adding that “if every mosque with capacity of 500 congregants and above will recite Selawat 11 times, it will exceed the expected number of 4,444”.
