Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD) marked International Day of Peace with a Doa Kesyukuran and mass Asar prayer at the association’s headquarters in Anggerek Desa, Berakas yesterday.
The annual event was held to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty for granting peace to Brunei Darussalam as well as foster closer ties among PPPBD members.
The Doa Kesyukuran and Asar prayer were led by PPPBD Spiritual Commissioner Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani. The event continued with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and a religious talk.
Lifetime Vice-Presidents of PPPBD Datin Paduka Hajah Zaharah binti Haji Idris and Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali as well as Deputy Chief Commissioner of PPPBD Hajah Viviyanti binti Haji Md Ali were present.
This year’s International Day of Peace celebrated every September 21 is themed ‘Actions for peace: Our ambition for the #GlobalGoals’ in support of sustainable development goals. – Rokiah Mahmud
