The Brunei Half Marathon 2024, in its fifth year, has seen 500 registrations so far, with organisers targeting 1,000 runners before registration closes on October 15.
This year’s event, known as the BMW Edition, has attracted 30 international runners including from Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
Set to take place on December 1 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, the marathon offers winners the chance to participate in the prestigious BMW Berlin Marathon.
At yesterday’s press conference, Youth and Sports Department Director Umi Kalthum binti Haji Abdul Karim expressed optimism on the event’s potential to uncover promising young talents.
Race Director Pengiran Danny bin Pengiran Tajuddin from the Brunei Half Marathon 2024 shared updates on the event, sponsored by BMW Brunei, and represented by QAF Auto Sdn Bhd General Manager Alisa Khoo.
Certificates of appreciation were also presented to sponsors during the press conference.
Alisa Khoo also said that as the event draws nearer, organisers remain confident in reaching their participation goals and continuing to encourage greater involvement in outdoor sports and fitness activities. – Fadley Faisal
