A local man tragically lost his life in a fatal accident on Monday morning along the Telisai-Kuala Belait highway at KM38.2.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) reported that the Sungai Liang Police Station received a distress call at around 10:30am regarding the accident.
Police personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, where an initial investigation revealed that the accident involved a sedan and a lorry. Paramedics at the scene confirmed that the driver, who was trapped in the collision, had passed away. It is believed the victim was standing beside his vehicle, which had stopped at the side of the highway, when the accident occurred.
The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Members of the public who witnessed the incident are encouraged to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the police hotline at 993 to assist with the investigation.
In light of the tragedy, the RBPF urges road users to remain vigilant, exercise caution while driving, and always prioritise safety on the road. – JAMES KON
