The Magistrate’s Court yesterday ordered a foreign man to settle a BND186,400 fine for possessing 193 cartons cigarettes of various brand.
Mohd Zain bin Abdullah @ Wu Kuo Zhao, 54, would have to serve two years’ jail in default of payment of the fine.
Magistrate Nur Eleana binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Hairol Arni heard from the customs prosecutor that the defendant was found keeping a massive amount of contraband at a house, STKRJ Kampong Rimba.
The findings were a result of a joint operation executed by Royal Customs and Excise Department and Narcotics Control Bureau enforcers.
