Putut Bayu Kirana was issued a BND1,000 fine after the Licensing and Enforcement Division of the Brunei-Muara District Office investigated him for disposing rubbish on an empty plot of land in Kampong Dadap recently.
The investigation was carried out by the Licensing and Enforcement officers following a video that went viral on social media platforms.
The failure to settle the compound within seven days will lead the case to be prosecuted in court under Chapter 30 of the Miscellaneous Act.
Under this act, if any individual is found guilty, a fine of not more than BND9,000 will be imposed, while for private companies, a fine of not more than BND30,000 will be imposed, or imprisonment not more than 12 months, or both. – Lyna Mohamad
