A 48-year-old local man was sentenced to a year’s jail after he pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday to theft in a building.
Prosecutor Nurul Husna Abidin revealed that Mohd Sane bin Haji Abu Bakar went to the Surau on level one at The Mall, Gadong to charge his phone and sleep on the morning of May 15.
After about half an hour had passed, the defendant woke up, unplugged his phone and came across a sling bag left behind.
