BERNAMA – A woman was killed after crashing her motorcycle into a cow at Jalan Gua Musang, Kota Bharu in Malaysia yesterday.
Kuala Krai Police Chief Superintendent Mazlan Mamat said the accident happened at 7.24am while the woman was riding to work from Rancangan Pemulihan Tanah Chuchoh Puteri to Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra in Kuala Krai.
He said the 35-year-old motorcyclist collided with a cow that was crossing the road and was pronounced dead at the scene from serious head and body injuries. “Her body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai for an autopsy while the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said yesterday.
Meanwhile, Mazlan said there was a total of 23 cases involving livestock in Kuala Krai from the beginning of January to March 29, of which 20 collisions involved vehicle damage, two cases causing injuries and one fatal case recorded yesterday.
