Malaysian high commissioner visits companies

The Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah continued his series of working visits to Malaysian companies operating in the country.

In Thursday’s visit to Pro-Builder Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian diplomat and delegates were also taken to visit project sites carried out by the company, which is the flyover at the junction of Jalan Utama Mentiri and Tanah Jambu Link Road. Arriving at Pro-Builder, the high commissioner was welcomed by Managing Director of Pro-Builder Sia Kie King, as well as senior staff members.

During the visit, the high commissioner was briefed on the company’s profile and its subsidiaries by Commercial Manager Grace Sia, followed by a presentation of some of the company’s prominent projects by project engineer Ethan Sia.

The visit then proceeded with a tour around the premise and stockyard, where the high commissioner took a closer look at the daily operations of the workshop and the scope of services performed by the company and its subsidiaries.

Dato’ Raja Reza then stopped over at the company’s asphalt plant to witness the process of its production, where he was briefed on the different types of asphalt available on the market and learnt about the process of quality inspection.

Yesterday’s tour concluded with a visit to one of the construction sites at Jalan Muara/Tanah Jambu, which is midway through construction and was given a progress summary on site as well as briefed on the different construction phases of the project.

Founded in 1991, Pro-Builder has since grown to become one of the largest Brunei-based construction firms with over 30 years of track records in successful delivery of civil and infrastructural projects ranging from construction of drainage, roads and flyovers to highway maintenance.

Some of its notable projects in Brunei include the Jerudong-Tungku Link Road (Phase 2) and the Muara-Meragang Flyover.
