The Magistrate’s Court on Monday ordered a 22-year-old Malaysian man to settle a BND1,500 for failing to stop his vehicle for further inspection by the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
Mohd Rizuan bin Abdullah Ikhwan would have to serve a month’s jail in default of payment of the fine. Magistrate Muhammad Qamarul Affyian bin Abdul Rahman heard that the incident occurred on December 28, at 3.08pm at the Ujong Jalan Control and Inspection Complex and Labu Control Post.
The defendant was intercepted by Customs inspection officers after failing to comply with instructions for further checks. – Fadley Faisal
