His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as a personal representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam joined congregants to perform Friday prayers at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong yesterday.
His Royal Highness Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, the Regent and Crown Prince of Pahang as well as His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s sons also attended.
On arrival, His Majesty and Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar and Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan.
After performing Sunnat Ba’diyah prayer, His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong signed a commemorative plaque and received a pesambah.
His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Al-Marhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj are currently in Brunei for the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ tour before continuing their expedition to Miri today. Their Majesties arrived at Labu Control Post in Temburong District on Thursday. The expedition covers a journey stretching 2,154 kilometres on the Pan Borneo Highway covering Sabah and Sarawak. – Azlan Othman
