His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the 16th Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah and Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj and members of the Malaysian royal family in Brunei Darussalam yesterday.
The royal couple and their entourage arrived at 9.30pm via the Labu Control Post in the Temburong District. On hand to welcome the royal delegation were Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman and Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid as well as Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah.
The delegation also took the opportunity to greet people along the way as well as pose for a photo at the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge. The delegation then made their way to the The Empire Hotel Brunei and was welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman as well as His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah.
The delegation is currently on a special visit as part of the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ tour from September 3-13. The tour covers a distance of 2,154 kilometres along the Pan Borneo Highway.
The Malaysian Agong is set to perform Friday prayers today at Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah. – Adib Noor
