The Malayali Association Brunei celebrated the Onam harvest festival at Pusat Insani, Seria on Sunday.
Around 500 people attended the programme, including High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri, who officiated the event.
Also in attendance were Legislative Council (LegCo) members Yang Berhormat Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman and Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann.
The programme featured performances by community members, including dances and songs across various age groups, and ended with a traditional Onam feast on banana leaves.
The association also celebrated its 10th anniversary, and made donations to the Belait District Orphan’s Fund and Society for Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei.
