Malam Munajat celebrates the strength of PWDs on International Day of Disabilities

The 164th Malam Munajat programme organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) was held virtually Saturday night, coinciding with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) 2024. 

The event was focused at the Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Mukim Kilanas.

Among the attendees of the event was the Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman.

The programme commenced with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the special guest, Acting Director of Special Education at the Ministry of Education Dr Eddy Fazlin bin Haji Amdan. 

This was followed by the collective recitation of Surah Al-Mulk, led by Mohammad Yusri bin Sulaiman, an Education Officer from the Special Education Department. The Doa Munajat was delivered by Pengiran Shahrul Nazrin @ Haziq Al-Mukhtar bin Pengiran Haji Shahbudin, a Senior Education Officer at the same department.

A religious talk (Tazkirah) was then delivered by Haji Muhammad Naqib bin Haji Awang, a Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre. He emphasised the resilience and faith of persons with disabilities (PWDs), highlighting that Allah only tests individuals with trials they can endure, rewarding patience, gratitude, and acceptance with paradise.

The programme continued with a collective recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah, led by Mazli bin Moksin, a Special Religious Education teacher. 

Concluding the event with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by Adee Aiman bin Haji Muhidin, a Mosque Affairs Officer from the Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque.

Participants of the event included PWDs, officers and staff from the Special Education Department, and members of mosque congregations from 45 mosques, suraus, and religious halls nationwide. 

Also present were committee members of the mosque and individuals joining virtually from their homes.

The program serves as a call for collective spiritual enhancement through prayers, Quranic recitations, and supplications, aiming for the safety and well-being of Brunei Darussalam and its citizens.
