The all-new Nissan Magnite SUV was unveiled by Boustead Sdn Bhd, the main distributor of Nissan cars in the country at Nissan Brunei’s showroom in Beribi yesterday.
The unveiling began with remarks from Nissan Brunei Sales Manager Haji Shahrum bin Haji Jaafar who touched on the affordability and uniqueness of the Nissan Magnite.
Boustead Executive Manager Lim Jin Lee said, “Brunei is very excited to welcome an all-new SUV that will give both performance and fuel efficiency.
“This car is for those with active lifestyles who constantly need things moving. The Nissan Magnite will no doubt deliver a seamless and fun driving experience,” he added.
“Boasting a best in-class ground clearance of 205 millimetres, the Nissan Magnite can handle most roads without any difficulties.”
The Nissan Magnite is a subcompact crossover SUV representing Nissan’s global SUV heritage and advanced Japanese engineering.
Designed in Japan, the Nissan Magnite has been tested at the company’s world-class testing facility, the Nissan Tochigi Proving Ground, where models including the Nissan GT-R and Nissan Ariya have made their mark.
As part of Nissan’s global heritage, part of the company philosophy is to empower people through breakthrough products and advanced technologies.
The name “Magnite” is a portmanteau of the words “magnetic” and “ignite”.
Nissan Magnite is powered by one-litre turbocharged engine with a horsepower of 99HP/5,000 and torque of 160Nm/3,600 for the Magnite Upper MT and 152Nm/4,400 for the Magnite Premium CVT.
The car provides both performance and fuel efficiency satisfying current consumer trends.
Setting it apart from other SUVs, the Nissan Magnite’s exterior has a big, bold, and fresh design giving it a confident and agile stance while still appearing vibrant and youthful.
The all-LED front light package includes L-shaped daytime running lights that sit below the stylish slim LED headlamp.
It is also equipped with LED headlamps and keyless entry with a push-start button.
With its generous ground clearance, silver front and rear bumper skid plates, and functional roof rails can load up to maximum weight of 50 kilogrammes, together with its edgy grille design featuring Nissan’s new emblem, the Nissan Magnite has a striking presence.
Inside, the SUV is a comfortable five-seater with a spacious layout with its high seating position and wide shoulder space between the driver and front passenger.
Its cargo space can load up to 336 litres that is enough to carry daily essentials and luggage ready for adventures.
Built for outgoing and active-lifestyle owners, the Nissan Magnite is equipped with an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto together with six speakers within the car. It also has a seven-inch digital instrument display screen that shows all the required information to ensure drivers a fun yet informative drive.
In the Brunei market, the SUV comes in two variants namely Magnite Upper (Manual Transmission) and the Magnite Premium CVT (Auto Transmission).
