Held at the Setia Motors Sdn Bhd Hyundai Showroom in Beribi, the event saw representatives from Brunei Press – General Manager Mohd Najmuddin bin Abdul Razak and Senior Manager (Finance and Operations) Ms Suzie Houng in attendance.

Representing Setia Motors Sdn Bhd were the General Manager Mr James Chin and Sales Manager Fadhilla Sulaiman, while Baiduri Bank was represented by the Deputy CEO Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Hj Mustapha and Head of Retail Banking Mr Lim Kian Chiong.

In his welcoming speech, Brunei Press’s General Manager said that over 23,000 entries from readers of both Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata were received, which means five per cent of the Brunei population joined the contest.

“As we all know, Croatia and Morocco’s advances to the semi-final surprised a lot of football fans around the world. That unexpected turn of events saw only 23 or 0.1 per cent of the submitted entry guesses of the semi-finalists correct,” said Mohd Najmuddin.

Eight winning entries were selected by representatives of the event organiser, Brunei Press, along with Setia Motors (Hyundai) and Baiduri Bank as prize sponsors.

All top winners were given a key each, and Md Fauzi was the lucky individual who was able to open and start the car.

An Education Officer at the PAP Hajah Masna Secondary School, Md Fauzi said his win was unexpected, and with a total of eight entry submissions from himself, only one entry guessed all four semi-finalists correctly.

“This is my second Hyundai car as my first one was the Hyundai i10 Grand which I had also bought here at Setia Motors. I’m looking forward to bringing my family members out using this car because it is spacious and is a family car,” added the winner.

He went on to say that he had already targeted owning an SUV and is happy that the Creta is an elegant vehicle.

“I’ve never participated in this contest before, so this is the first time. Many thanks to the main sponsors Setia Motors Sdn Bhd (Hyundai) and Baiduri Bank, and not forgetting the main organisers Media Permata and Borneo Bulletin.”

The second and third-prize winners won a Baiduri Savings account worth BND1,000 and BND500 respectively, while other winners walked away with BND100 Baiduri Savings account and Hyundai merchandise.
