Long distance runner shines in Tutong fun run

Local long distance runner Sefli bin Ahar emerged as the champion of the men’s open six kilometres (km) category with a time of 21 minutes 57 seconds in the fun run ‘Larian Semarak Kebangsaan’ at Tutong Sports Complex yesterday.

Mohammad Haziq Syazwan bin Herman took the second place and in third place was Huzaini bin Mahad. The women’s open 6km category winner was Tho Siew Him from Miri who crossed the finish line with a time of 29 minutes and 27 seconds. Second place went to Alea binti Abdullah while Husna binti Abdullah came in third place.

Organised by Limin Cardio Fitness with cooperation from the Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation, the fun run attracted nearly 300 participants.

Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri was the guest of honour. Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampong Sengkarai Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan also attended.
