Nur Maizura binti Mohd Said of CoLiving Hostel joined the annual European Union (EU)-Startups Summit 2022, from May 12 to 13, in the Palau de Congressos Barcelona, in Spain.
The summit gathered over 1,500 founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, and media from across Europe.
The event provided an opportunity for networking (with a dedicated networking app), and a meeting point for aspiring entrepreneurs and investors aiming to build international tech companies.
Participants joined fireside chats with internationally recognised founders, keynotes, and a pitch competition with 15 startup teams in the final, selected from over 1,300 applicants.
In an interview with the Sunday Bulletin, Nur Maizura shared her experience at the summit.
She said, “It was a great networking event with pool of startup owners, angel investors and solutions providers at tech companies providing system support for companies.
“Once participants registered with the EU Startups Summit app, they were able to arrange to meet with each other in person, including angel investors and speakers, during the two-day event.
“The event provided great and insightful contents from renowned speakers in Europe.
“Presentations from speakers and workshops were held concurrently.
“Participants were able to move between the main stage and the workshop, depending on interests and business needs.
“The arrangement was brilliant as participants met scheduled partners using the networking app,” Nur Maizura said.
She added, “I managed to network with a group of female founders. We are now a group that continues to support and share ideas with each other.
I also got to learn about Accelerator, a company based in Estonia which I am interested to join. As PayGlass is planning to set up a company in Europe, the platform will be one of the options.”
She said, “There was an exhibition area, where well-established system providers showcased their product and services. Participants received free credits from companies to use the services for our startups.
“I also joined Club Global networking event nights, where I got a chance to network with event participants, as well as other club members in Barcelona.”
