The Local Product Expo, which served as a platform for local producers and enterpreneurs to showcase and promote their products, at Bridex Hall, Jerudong drew a huge crowd, according to the organiser.
The four-day event, which ran from November 30 to December 3, left visitors like Abdul Abu Talib enthusiastic about the array of locally-made products.
He saw the expo as an excellent venue for those seeking home-grown goods, highlighting the growing interest in such products in the local market.
Jury Yusuf from Kilanas also shared similar sentiments, expressing belief that the expo not only educated visitors about local products, but also facilitated interactions with producers, especially those venturing into the food and beverages sector.
He also highlighted the confidence among buyers in learning that the products are locally sourced, adhere to halal certification and with an emphasis on quality.
Meanwhile, manager of local company rulzkrafwarisan Airul Shahrizam bin Haji Mohd Daud said it was the second time that his company had participated in the event.
He saw the expo as the perfect platform for him to showcase his traditional headgear of dastar.
The exposure has led to an increase in customers, with some already familiar with the product while others discovering it for the first time.
Assistant tourism officer at the Tourism Development Department Haji Izzul Hafiz bin Haji Morshidi said the agency is committed to promoting local products and packages under the ‘Kenali Negara Kitani’ (KNK) initiative.
He continued, “The KNK initiative is part of the Brunei December Festival (BDF), which is in its seventh edition this year.”
He highlighted that to help the visitors navigate the BDF, the department had prepared a Festival Guide containing information on over 150 events, activities and promotions lined up for this month.
The Festival Guide is hoped to encourage the public to explore various offerings, including hotel promotions, tourist destinations, holiday packages and festivals.
