Local paintball team finish second in Kuching meet

Local paintball team Ignite sealed second place in the open electronic division of the Sarawak Paintball League 2024 Leg#1 held in Kuching, Malaysia recently.

Ignite, one of the oldest paintball teams in the country, lost to defending champions K Trooper in the final.

En route to the final, Ignite beat Borneo Legion Aisawan 2-0 in the last four.

Ignite sealed qualification after finishing in the top two positions during the preliminary round following a record of four wins, one draw and one loss.

The team was led by newly-appointed captain Mohd Sukrivijaya bin Haji Zaini, a club servant since it was first formed.

The Brunei representative was also inspired by ex-captain Haji Shamsul Dilah, who is currently managing and playing for the team.

The team, which was formed in February 2011, also comprise Muhd Rapid, Haji Suferdy, Khai, Md Yunus, Hanafie, Rafiuddin, Halim, and Syazani who hails from Malaysia.

Twenty-four teams participated across three countries from hosts Sarawak, Sabah, Singapore, West Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
