A 28-year-old Bruneian was fined BND5,000 for possessing two types of vape pods without a valid permit or authorisation by Magistrate Hajah Normazdina binti Haji Md Maskub on Tuesday
Abdul Mustaqim bin Mohd Addey would have to serve five months imprisonment in default of payment of the fine.
According to the Customs prosecutor, the incident occurred on December 30, 2023, when Abdul Mustaqim was arrested during a joint operation led by Royal Brunei Police under a roadblock beneath the RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang Highway Bridge in Tutong. Officers from the Royal Customs and Excise Department’s Enforcement Unit seized the vape pods.
The court ordered the vape pods forfeited and destroyed. – FADLEY FAISAL
