Twenty-five-year-old Muhammad Nur Alif bin Abdullah was sentenced to six months’ jail for stealing BND520 from a car detailing company he worked for.
Judicial officer Nur Sariy Shahmina binti Haji Jaffri handed down the sentence on Tuesday after hearing prosecutor Nur Hidayatul Aeny Alisah binti Haji Zullizam reveal that the defendant had betrayed his employer.
It was the morning of February 3 when the defendant received a customer booking for detailing slots.
For payment, the defendant instructed the customer to transfer the fund into his personal bank account.
Once he received the BND786 in payment, the defendant transferred BND266 to the company account.
On February 15, the defendant’s employer found a blank copy of a receipt with the original nowhere to be found. The employer then checked on the company phone only to discover the defendant’s act, leading to a police report.
The defendant’s arrest followed and his act was unearthed during investigations. – Fadley Faisal
