The Third TAMU NEKA offers local produce enthusiasts a four-day haven from August 29 to September 1 at the Dataran Gong Tiga Community Center in Kampong Lamunin, Tutong.

Co-organised by MPK Lamunin and the youths of Kampong Lamunin, the event brought together participants from Mukim Lamunin, including residents from Kampong Menengah, Bukit Sulang, Kampong Panchong, Kampong Layong, and nearby villages like Kampong Kuala Ungar, Kampong Merimbun, Kampong Tanjung Maya, and Kampong Kiudang. Youth entrepreneurs from Mukim Lamunin also took part.

The event’s primary objective was to showcase and promote local products from Mukim Lamunin, an area well-known across Brunei Darussalam for its agricultural produce, such as fruits, vegetables, and handicrafts like baskets and other items.

The festival aimed to unite the community and encourage participation in TAMU NEKA by contributing their products. The event featured 40 participants with 40 stalls, alongside a “live cooking” session as a side event.

Acting Village Head of Kampong Lamunin, Madeli bin Haji Nawang, highlighted that the fruit festival, now in its third year, is more than just a means to generate extra income for rural communities. It’s a celebration of local food and fruit growers, providing a vibrant platform to connect them with eager consumers.
