Local film Vanishing Children Triangle, written, directed and acted by Abdul Zainidi made its screening debut at The Empire Cinema on Wednesday.
Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus was the guest of honour.
Embassy of the Philippines in Brunei Darussalam’s Minister and Consul General Pete Raymond V Delfin, French Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, and Professor Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos were also in attendance.
The film is made up of short episodes spanning for an hour and seven minutes, portraying fairy tales and stories on lost people and other worlds. It is narrated by actors and everyday people without acting experience, and gives opportunity to children who are from the National Association for the Hearing-Impaired (OKP) group to play characters in the film.
In addition to the hearing-impaired and special children, there are also national acts like Pengiran Haji Mohammad Don bin Pengiran Haji Besar, Lina Khan, Abdul Zainidi and Brunei TikTokers.
Recently nominated at the Philippines film festival in Ngilngig International Fantastic Film Festival in Davao to represent Brunei, the film received high praise for its content. The film is supported by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism under the Brunei December Festival 2022. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the OKP.
