Bee Motors Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Ducati motorcycles in Brunei, welcomed 52 riders from Ducati Official Club Indonesia (DOCI).
They were on an epic 2,537-kilometre cross border journey, named ‘DOCI x Border’, began with a flight from Indonesia capital Jakarta to Pontianak in Kalimantan on September 4. They embarked on the journey to arrive in Sibu, Sarawak on September 5 and continued their journey to the Sultanate where they stayed overnight and was treated to a dinner by Ducati Brunei.
The visitors visited the Indonesian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, Istana Nurul Iman and rode on Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge.
The visitors left for Bintulu, Sarawak yesterday after a lunch with Ducati Brunei management and staff. The journey is expected to conclude tomorrow back in Pontianak.
Bee Motors Executive Manager Lim Jin Lee welcomed the Indonesian bikers on their arrival.
Ducati Brunei Sales and Marketing Manager Adehelmie Jaafar, during the lunch with DOCI members and Ducati Brunei customers, said the love of Ducati motorcycles brought enthusiasts together.
Tokens of appreciation were exchanged between Ducati Brunei and DOCI President Fernando T Rorimpandey.
Rorimpandey said he was excited to be in Brunei as it was his first time here. The journey, he said, was pleasant with good roads and fine weather without incident.
He said DOCI is officially partnered with Indonesia’ Ducati distributor and he expressed hope that Bee Motors would support the establishment of an official Bruneian Ducati club.
He added that Indonesia has around 1,500 Ducati riders and DOCI has around 300 members. – James Kon
