Joffren Omar Company Sdn Bhd (JO) marked a significant milestone recently by becoming the first local company to receive certification for the International Electrotechnical Commission for Explosive Atmospheres (IECEx) as a certified service facility.
The certification means that JO meets international standards to perform servicing on equipment located in hazardous or explosive atmospheres safely and effectively with staff competency, equipment, management system and procedure.
This enables them to play a role in Brunei’s safe operation of its oil and gas industry while also increasing awareness on hazardous environment safety in the industrial sector.
As an established local company run by Bruneians, JO contributed to the local business development by focussing on values in line with Brunei Vision 2035 and creating a dynamic and highly skilled workforce.
JO Managing Director Pengiran Md Noor Joffren bin Pengiran Omar said, “I am proud of the organisation and team members who worked hard to achieve this certification. This certification is recognised globally and gives us a boost in bringing Brunei towards meeting world-class safety and industrial standards, especially working in hazardous and explosive atmospheres commonly found in the oil and gas industry.”
