Nightly stage performances continue to enliven Gerai Perayaan at Tudung Saji in the Belait District, held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration.
The Belait District Youth Association (PEMBELA) claimed the stage on July 31, performing songs and dances themed around ‘Gemilang 78‘.
The performances were led by local artistes and bands, including Ukgnawa, Hamizan, Sari, Wafi Sani and Melodia.
Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd’s head of external relations Malai Ayla Surya binti Malai Haji Abdullah was the guest of honour. She was welcomed by PEMBELA president Atikah Rumaizah binti Dr Haji Harun.
While the celebration for His Majesty’s birthday celebration concluded on July 31, both the Gerai Perayaan and the accompanying nightly performances will continue until August 4 due to popular demand. – Daniel Lim
