The Magistrate’s Court yesterday handed down a 24 months’ jail sentence to a 24-year-old local man following his guilty pleas towards seven charges of taking indecent photos of women in the female toilet at his workplace.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Fitri binti Kiprawi revealed in court that Mohammad Nurhafiz bin Haji Bogaibah worked as a deliveryman for a private corporation in Kampong Masin.
He admitted that he had secretly captured numerous photographs of his female colleagues in the toilet between July 10 and August 10.
The defendant’s actions were revealed on August 19 when an internal inquiry was launched by the management following a complaint by female employees who frequently saw the defendant entering the female toilet at the workplace.
During the inquiry, four female colleagues identified themselves through the photographs found in the defendant’s mobile phone. The defendant admitted to his wrongdoing. The victims lodged a police report leading to the defendant’s arrest.
He was also terminated from employment immediately.
The defendant admitted that he recorded and kept all the photographs for sexual gratification.
