Literary criticism workshop for budding writers

Associate Professor Dr Tengku Intan Marlina binti Tengku Mohd Ali, Deputy Dean (Higher Degrees) from Academy of Malay Studies at the Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday called participants at a Literary Criticism Workshop to continue to practice the art of literary criticism.

She made a statement at a ceremony where 32 individuals received certificates for completing the three-day Literary Criticism Workshop. The event was held at Sarmayuda Hall of the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP).

DBP Acting Director Suip bin Haji Abdul Wahab presented the certificates to the participants.

The workshop was organised by the DBP to promote semi-scientific research and discussions in the publication of DBP’s magazine, Bahana.

The workshop was aimed to guide and gain the knowledge of young writers in literary criticism, particularly in the application of theory to a study. – James Kon
