With school holiday entering the third week, parents have been bringing their children to visit interesting and historical places in the country, with some registering their children to participate in activities organised by private and government agencies.
According to a parent, Himessadeja, she registered her children in activities organised by the Borneo Research Centre (penBorneo) under the Brunei History Centre.
She said the activities enhanced their knowledge about the history of the Sultanate.
Another parent Siti Norajimah also recently brought her children to visit the exhibition galleries at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
“The children get to learn how Islamic scholars apply technology to determine the movement of stars, measure time and so on.
“They also had the opportunity to take a closer look at Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) hair,” she added.
For Jury Yusof, the one-month school break means planning activities for his children so they will not be bored at home.
“I brought them to visit the Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja in the capital where they learn the history and the development of the oil and gas industry in Brunei while also participating in quizzes and colouring activities,” he shared.
