ANN/CHINA DAILY – Lenovo, in collaboration with United States tech giants such as Intel and Qualcomm, is venturing into artificial intelligence (AI) personal computers (PCs), aiming to cater to the rising demand for smarter productivity tools.

The AI-powered computers, introduced in Shanghai, can automatically create presentations and gather knowledge from stored documents, catering to users from students to scientists.

Lenovo’s chairman Yang Yuanqing sees AI’s shift from breakthroughs to practical applications as a new phase. He emphasised the importance of user feedback for enhancing AI technology in real-world scenarios.

With Canalys predicting a surge in AI-capable PC shipments, Lenovo aims to have around half of its PC products in China equipped with AI capabilities by next quarter, increasing to 80 per cent by 2024. Lenovo’s AI PCs feature an in-house large language model for natural interaction, offering personalised services based on local user data. Chief Executive Officer and President of Qualcomm Cristiano Amon said the PC industry is entering an exciting moment in a video speech at Lenovo meeting in Shanghai recently.
