Lending a helping hand at social kitchen

Progresif Sdn Bhd recently gave their support to the annual Social Kitchen Community initiative. The initiative, held at The Kitchen Table in Kiulap, aimed to offer an opportunity for socio-economically challenged families and single mothers, to showcase their culinary skills by preparing and selling home-cooked meals at events or through donations.

This year, with the help of Progresif’s Chief Legal and Compliance Officer Abdul Hakeem bin Haji Basir, the Progresif senior management team and staff packed 250 meals and distributed towards the socio-economically challenged communities and migrant workers across the nation. The kitchen operations were led by project leaders of Miza Syahmeena binti Mohammad and Hajah Nurul Izzati Khairunnisa binti Haji Embran.

“During Ramadhan, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and helping those in need.

“At Progresif, we are honoured to participate in this initiative, and we hope our contribution will inspire others to join us in spreading the spirit of charity and sharing meals not only during Ramadhan but beyond,” said Abdul Hakeem.

Abdul Hakeem also expressed his support for the initiative and its alignment with Progresif’s core values and the spirit of Ramadhan and explained about Progresif’s internal campaign known as Recycle to Donate, held in February.

The campaign saw Progresif staff collected a total of 745 kilogrammes of recyclable materials, with the proceeds going to the initiative.

Progresif presented plaques to Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) Chairman Mohamad Anwar bin Haji Mohammad and Kawan Bumi Sdn Bhd Director Manager Lim Wee Ann for partnering with Progresif in the programme as a token of appreciation.
