Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib yesterday met French Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Eve Lubin.
During the meeting, they discussed various topics, including last year’s visit from the French Parliament, which aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two legislatures. They also explored the initiative to establish a friendship group and highlighted France’s significant role as a dialogue partner in the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), an organisation comprised of ASEAN parliaments.
Additionally, both parties shared insights into their legal systems and expressed a desire to learn from each other’s best practices through future visits.
Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council and Clerk to the LegCo Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah was also present at the meeting.
