Legislative Council (LegCo) members met with Land Transport Department (JPD) officials for a working visit at the Training and Driving Test Circuit Complex at Kampong Sungai Akar yesterday.
Fourteen LegCo members heard a short briefing by Acting Director of JPD Ridzuan bin Haji Ahmad, who touched on the department’s achievements and challenges as well as efforts to address issues.
The LegCo members were also informed on the development of public transportation in the country, as well as the latest plans to improve the existing public transport system.
The visit was for the members to receive updates and information on the department ahead of the next LegCo session to gain a clear picture of challenges faced by land transportation services.
It was also an opportunity for LegCo members to exchange views with government officials. – James Kon
