In the journey towards a tech-empowered future, mastering digital tools is imperative, said Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Chong Chin Yee during the International Women’s Day – Impact the Future event at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications recently.
The event, co-hosted by Google Developer Group Brunei and Women Techmakers Brunei, showcased the launch of DigiThink, an initiative aiming to boost digital literacy in Southeast Asia. Project lead Sarinah Ziziumiza said the tools DigiThink offers, such as Digital Journeys: The Adventure of Digital Citizenship augmented reality book and the DigiMinds e-learning platform, are designed to make learning more interactive and engaging.
DigiThink, embedded in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Decade of Impact, complements the YSEALI Seeds for the Future programme through the creation of Digiverse, a project dedicated to enhancing digital literacy among younger generations.
DigiThink’s launch, aligned with the goals of YSEALI and International Women’s Day, set the stage for an educational transformation, empowering individuals with the digital literacy necessary for success in a technology-driven era.
