Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir called for the existing tourism sector to be driven through specific programmes of more interesting and new tourism activities.
He said this during the 21st session of the LegCo meeting yesterday.
This includes upgrading places of visits in terms of commercial value of viable and sustainable tourism. Apart from that, efforts towards enlivening the Temburong District by organising social, sports and business activities, whether at national or regional level, are seen as important to drive progress and development in the Temburong District.
Highlighting His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah on government efforts to encourage more economic and tourism activities to Brunei Darussalam which directly leads to spin-offs to local businesses, he expressed hope that this positive impact will be achieved in the Temburong District.
He also highlighted His Majesty’s titah which stressed cooperation and innovation of all parties was necessary to achieve Brunei Vision 2035. – Fadhil Yunus
