Learning how to make a Thai delicacy

Six trainees under the UnikLearn programme learnt how to make som tam, the iconic Thai papaya salad through a cooking demonstration organised by the Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam with An-Nur Harapan, in conjunction with the birthday anniversary of Thailand’s Queen Sirikit.

Chef Thikamporn Sawangarom from the embassy taught the trainees how to prepare the dish.

Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Boosara Kanchanalai said that the activity hoped to give back to the local community. “Som tam is a simple and easy to prepare food that could be developed into a culinary course,” she said.

The trainees also received jelly drinks from Hong Guan, a company distributing Thai products.
