    Learning about SDGs at ISB Borneo Global Issues Conference

    Chung Hwa Middle School (CHMS) Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) sent a contingent of 50 students to participate at the 19th International School Brunei (ISB) Borneo Global Issues Conference recently.

    CHMS BSB were among the 23 schools participating, including three from Sabah, Malaysia.

    The conference tackled topic of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN SGDs) 8 – ‘Decent Work and Economic Health’.

    Four CHMS students received awards during the closing ceremony for outstanding performances.

    Year 10 student Kleio Lai Xian Hui and Year 11 students Owen Yang Fu Shen and Lim Jia Xin were recognised as ‘Most Improved Delegate’. Year 11 Carrier Briones was awarded the ‘Best Delegate’ in the Committee of Political Forum 2.

    The students said they had learnt a great deal about the UN SGDs as well as the parliamentary procedures in a UN-style setting.
