Grand Motors Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of KIA is set to launch the latest edition of KIA Seltos tomorrow at its showroom.
KIA Seltos has been one of the most popular SUVs in the local market. The Seltos is available in Smartstream 1.5 petrol and 1.5 CRDi VGT engines as well as a diesel GL variant.
Members of the local media were given an opportunity to test-drive both variants yesterday.
The new Seltos comes with a fresh design inside and out. A larger nose grille gives the Seltos a tougher presence.
The Star Map signature lighting across the front grille creates an attractive distinct look especially at night.
For the GT Line and GTLX line, the LED lighting can be seen on both ends of the front grille.
Stepping inside the interior, the main highlight is the display and control panel with high visibility.
For the GT Line, the long 12.3” centre display centre stole the show, compared to the standard spec GL that comes with an eight-inch display.
The new Seltos continues to deliver a comfortable, capable as well as a confident driving experience with its 1.5 litre engine that can produce 115 horsepower and 143.8NM of torque as well as paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission for the petrol variants.
The driver can also choose the smart and sport drive mode to get the desired driving experience.
KIA’s safety features are continuous evolving. The new Seltos is equipped with the latest technology such as blind spot collision avoidance assist-rear (BCA), designed to detect vehicles travelling in the next lane in certain circumstances.
If the system detects a vehicle in its blind spot, it will issue an audible and visual warning.
Additional safety features include rear view monitor, anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic stability control, parking distance assist and six airbags.
Members of the public can view or test drive the new KIA Seltos following the launch tomorrow. – James Kon
