VIENTIANE (XINHUA) – Cold waves will lead to temperature drops across most parts of Laos until Wednesday, with some areas expected to experience temperatures as low as one degree Celsius (°C).
A cold air mass is spreading from China across the whole of Laos, causing temperatures to fall by 2-4°C, according to a notice issued by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Mountainous and plateau areas will experience the lowest temperatures, which are forecast to range from 1-5°C. The department has forecast minimum temperatures of 2-6°C in the northern part. The central provinces will experience temperatures ranging from 6-10°C. In the southern provinces, temperatures will range from 13-15°C.
Everyone was advised to keep track of weather forecasts and be prepared for temperature extremes.
