XINHUA – The Lao government is planning to transform Lao capital Vientiane into a low-carbon and climate-resilient city.
To address Laos’ growing infrastructure needs amid rapid urbanisation, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank has been supporting the Lao government to develop an action plan to transform Vientiane into a low-carbon, climate-resilient city while helping to tackle the country’s climate challenges.
According to a report issued by the Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport on Friday, 30 measures for a more sustainable capital city were indicated.
