Lack of proper lighting a concern for park-goers

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to the authorities for building Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, a place where people can spend time with their family and friends, running or walking along the path between the Brunei River and the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge.

Many folks, such as myself, visit the park daily to work out while taking in the breathtaking scenery. Regretfully, however, when night falls, concerns about safety arise as the lamp posts along the pathway are either broken or switched off.

Such a concern is echoed by foreign visitors, who enjoy spending time at the park but find it rather puzzling, as the path is also used by cyclists, who tend to whizz around people, including small children.

I hope the issue can be thoroughly looked into by the authorities, so that people’s safety isn’t compromised. Installing solar-powered lamp posts is another suggestion if saving energy is a priority.
