    Labour Force Survey underway

    The Labour Force Survey (LFS) 2022 conducted by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DPES), Ministry of Finance and Economy is currently underway, which began on November 14 to December 11.

    The results from the LFS 2022 will provide a source of information for evidence-based decision making, planning and policy formulation for socio-economic and research purposes.

    About 3,200 families selected for the survey have been notified through a letter of notification in which the heads and household members will be interviewed face-to-face by survey officers.

    The head of the household is advised to prepare in advance the identity card number of each household member as well as personal information including education and employment such as occupation, place of work and working hours. In pursuant to Section 9 of the Statistics Act, the failure or reluctance to provide information or furnishing false particulars is an offence by Chapter 81 of the Statistics Act which carries a BND4,000 fine.

    According to Section 6 of the same Act, all information provided shall remain confidential and will be used for statistical purposes only.

    Selected households are reminded to ensure that the interviewers visiting their premises are those appointed by DPES through their survey passes, appointment letters, identity cards and DPES official vest.
