Recipients of personal gifts (Kurnia Peribadi) of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expressed their gratitude, saying the monarch’s generosity will aid them with daily essentials.
Jijah binti Mohamad, 59, a resident of Kampong Katok ‘A’, expressed her gratitude for being able to be a recipient this year.
She shared the Kurnia will be spent wisely on essential items.
Meanwhile, housewife Nursherry Elyana binti Abdullah from Kampong Kiulap said the Kurnia will help supplement their monthly welfare assistance.
Her husband, a government servant, suffered a stroke in 2016.
‘‘Alhamdulilllah, the Kurnia that we received will help ease the burden for the upcoming Hari Raya and also our daily needs especially for the children’s needs,” she said. “Junjung Kasih to His Majesty for looking after his people’s welfare,” she said. Both Nursherry and her husband received the Kurnia.
Muhd Adri Aiman Syah bin Abdullah Jafri, said he will use the Kurnia for his school supplies and expressed his gratitude to the monarch.
Single mother Rosita binti Awang Tudin from Kampong Lugu told the Bulletin the Kurnia will aid in helping her children’s school supplies, prepare for Hari Raya celebration and daily essentials.
She said since her husband passed away from a stroke, she is the sole bread winner for her five children.
She also receives monthly welfare assistance from the Department of Community Development (JAPEM).
