Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Ra’es Associate Professor Dr Abdul Nasir bin Abdul Haji Rani attended the 17th Association of Southeast Asian Teachers Education Network (AsTEN) meeting at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
The ra’es, as the head of AsTEN, is representing the Sultanate at the meeting, accompanied by Dr Kharhan bin Haji Jait of the Faculty of Education as the focal person for AsTEN-Brunei.
The meeting joined by AsTEN members and education researchers will discuss the latest technological developments and strategic plans for teachers education, particularly in Southeast Asia.
The meeting’s agenda will include an in-depth review of the accreditation system, specifically the AsTEN Teacher Education Quality Assurance Agency (ATQA), to assess the suitability of study programmes offered at regional teacher education institutions.
Additionally, the meeting serves as a platform for the members to contribute to the AsTEN Journal of Teacher Education, which is Scopus-indexed.
It will also provide members with an opportunity to collaborate on research at ASEAN and international levels to support the implementation of the AsTEN Research Agenda 2024-2028: Research for Impact and Sustainability. – Rokiah Mahmud
