Religious University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) yesterday held a virtual prize presentation ceremony for competitions that were held in conjunction with 38th National Day celebration and Israk Mikraj 1443 Hijrah.
Present was Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar as the guest of honour at the ceremony. Also present were main officers, lecturers, staff and students of KUPU SB.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by chairperson of the ceremony Muhammad Nursyazwi Zawawi bin Shahri, a Year 2 student in Higher Diploma in Religious Teaching. The ceremony continued with judges’ comments and an announcement from Al-Quran Reading and Memorisation Competition judge, Mohamed Noor bin Haji Ibrahim, an education officer at KUPU SB; Shirt Designing Contest and Short Film Contest delivered by KUPU SB Religious Officer at the Students’ Affairs Section Ali Omar Saifuddien bin Haji Ali Amat.
The winner for the Al-Quran Reading and Memorisation Competition was Mohammad Syariff Wafiuddin bin Jemain, Year 1 student undertaking Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Religious Teaching; while the top spot for the shirt designing contest went to Ahmad Naufal Azizi bin Mohamad Norisham, a Year 4 student doing a Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching, and Muslim bin Mahadi, a Year 3 student of Higher Diploma in Religious Teaching emerged as the winner of the short film contest.
A number of activities and knowledge conventions were outlined by respective faculties and centres of KUPU SB to enliven the National Day celebration and Israk Mikraj including forums, padi harvesting, Explorasi Bukit Kitani and ATV rides in Temburong District as well as Halaqah Syariah Prayer Guidance that has been carried out at selected mosque nationwide.
