In response to the letter, ‘Concerns over huge water bill’, published in the Opinion page on September 7, 2024, I would like to advise the author to seek reconciliation with the authorities.
We had a similar experience, and we admitted to not keeping an eye on our water bill. The staff were very helpful and patient. They listened to our concerns before quoting a reasonable amount to pay, which has since been settled. We would like to also give a shout-out to the authorities of moving us to the USMS smart meter as it has removed the headache of keeping track of our bills. Kudos!
